Dr Mndeni Lindokuhle Kunene is an expert dermatologist who graduated with an MBChB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2010. Dr Kunene completed his two-year internship at Ngwelezana Tertiary Hospital through the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. After this, in 2013, he completed his community service at Hlabisa Hospital through the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. He obtained a Diploma in HIV management in 2013, and in 2019, he received his Fellowship in Dermatology from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA). Thereafter, in 2021, Dr Kunene attained his master’s degree (MMed) from Walter Sisulu University.

Dr Kunene was actively involved in the training of undergraduate and postgraduate students. He was involved in undergraduate training, assessments, and dermatology teaching while he was attached to Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital and Ngwelezana Tertiary Hospital.

Dr Kunene presented his research at congresses and was the recipient of the Galderma John Moche Research grant handed to him by the Dermatology Society of South Africa. He is a member of the South African Society for Dermatologic Surgery (SASDS), the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the Golden Key International Honour Society. “
