The Kovsie Dermatosurgery Project Launch

The Kovsie Dermatosurgery project has finally taken off, thanks to the vision of Prof. Frans Maruma.

A special dermatosurgery facility has been taken into commission last week- where an array of clinical procedures and dermatosurgery cases will be performed. Junior and senior registrars are working with visiting consultants and resident consultants to treat basic and advanced surgical cases. Procedures such as needling, pdt, intensified pdt and keloid therapies are part of the basic procedural landscape. Laser and light therapies to follow as these devices become available.

The SASDS is proud to support this initiative, improving the training and surgery skills of our future Dermatologists.
