Dr Tshepo Mokwena graduated from the University of Pretoria for both this undergraduate MBChB and post-graduate FCDerm SA degrees. After obtaining his “Best Intern of the Year” and the “Medical Officer of the Year” for the consecutive year, he completed his specialist dermatology training at the University of Pretoria.

This was followed by his service as a specialist dermatologist in a tertiary and a quaternary institution for a number of years. After practicing in both the public and private sectors, Dr Mokwena completed his fellowship in Mohs Micrographic surgery. He currently performs Mohs surgery in private practice in Pretoria as part of the SkinMatters Mohs and Reconstruction Unit.

Dr Mokwena continues to create awareness of dermatological conditions and manages all clinical, aesthetic and dermatological problems. He continues to be active in programmes directly linked to skin awareness and has been on several television and radio programmes to educate on skin-related matters. He also contributes to scientific research and to medical journals, and actively presents to general practitioners, specialists and the general public.
